About info

info is one search box over a family of small, independent sites. Each one keeps one kind of record: who a person is, where they publish, what they believe, what they recommend, which podcasts and radio stations exist, what a town is like. Searching them one by one is slow, so info searches all of them at once and sends you to the page that has the answer.

Where the results come from

Once an hour info reads the public list each site already publishes (for the people sites, the /estate.json file), and nothing else. It holds names, kinds, counts and links, never the pages themselves. A person or organisation that appears on several sites is shown once, joined by the same short key every site uses; a thing (a book, a tool) is joined only when the key and the name both agree.

So info is only as right as the sites it reads. If a result is wrong, the fix usually belongs on the site it links to, and telling us is the quickest way to get it made.
